COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The training workshop is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and capabilities in the assessment of chemical hazards such as dust and heavy metals, organic solvents, acids, toxic gases and physical hazards such as noise, heat, illumination, vibration and evaluation of industrial ventilation. Discussion will focus on industrial hygiene and instrumentation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this module, the participant should have a basic understanding on:

• Keeping workers safe from chemical hazards, preventing illnesses and injuries from workplace chemical exposure and improving public and environmental safety.
• Equipping workers with essential information about chemicals in their workplaces, highlighting safety measures and establishing basic principles for the safe use of chemicals.
