COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This advanced training aims to enhance the decision-making skills of the participants in ascertaining level of care and management with drug abuse issues.

PREREQUISITES:

Interested participants must have:

1. Taken any of these course:
   • Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training Course for Safety Officers
   • Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training Course for Nurses
   • Basic Course in Occupational Medicine
   • Construction Safety and Health Training Course
   • Postgraduate Course in Occupational Health and Safety
2. Completed the free online course on Drug-Free Workplace and passed the online prerequisite exam.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the end of the training, participants should be able to:

1. Describe the current facts, legal issues and health effects related to most common drugs of abuse in the Philippines;
2. Define and demonstrate the assessment process with the use of drug assessment screening tools;
3. Recognize intervention strategies that help determine level of management for workers afflicted with drug abuse;
4. Describe the process in establishing a referral system and case management protocol to aid workers afflicted with drug abuse;
5. Discuss the aftercare and re-entry program for workers afflicted with drug abuse;
6. Demonstrate the process of conducting a drug assessment and establishing a referral system and case management to aid workers afflicted with drug abuse; and
7. Prepare a draft re-entry plan to develop an assessment, referral, and case management protocol.
