COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This training course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of Industrial Hygiene as a basis for anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of various health hazards that maybe present in the working environment.

Upon completion of this module, the participant should have a basic understanding on:

1. The importance of industrial hygiene and the role of the industrial hygienist
2. The human physiology and fundamentals of toxicology
3. The different health hazards (physical, chemical, biological and ergonomics) in the workplace
4. Techniques on health hazard recognition / risk assessment
5. Introduction to hazard evaluation, exposure assessment and the measurement processes
6. Methods of controlling exposure
7. The management of occupational hygiene program

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PRE-REQUISITES:

Target participants should have completed a 40-hr BOSH or COSH training.
